Uniting and integrating various processes into one perfect flow can be a tough challenge, but not when it comes to Kaprikorni and our skillful team.

Customer

The customer example for this service is a leading company in manufacturing and repairing rail equipment in the UK. Among its many offerings are passenger rail cars and whole transit systems. Additionally, it produces bogies, freight cars, locomotives, and offers rail-control solutions.

Challenge

The corporation has a presence in a number of nations around Europe and North America, including the USA and Canada, due to the way its business is set up. Additionally, each of these nation-specific websites has a unique legacy system that is dedicated to it, such as SAP-based systems in the UK and Germany, Oracle financials in Canada, and so on. There is zero data sharing taking on between these antiquated systems, which are behaving as separate data silos. The German SAP system employs some sort of manual method at its end to purchase items from any of its merchants. All the other systems also experience the same scenario. And as a result, there is a great deal of data duplication happening.

Solution

The EAI solution proposed would make use of the integration capabilities of the suitable software to seamlessly integrate the various individual legacy systems of the company with the SAP-based purchasing order (PO) system.

This program is a distributed integration platform for Web services that is fully certified. It offers the fundamental basis for integration, extensive system connectivity, secure messaging, and powerful transformation possibilities.

In this scenario, the SAP-based PO system serves as a data hub for all of the legacy systems, directing all of the company’s procurement orders via it. Additionally, the offered software serves as the hub for integration between the company’s legacy systems and the SAP-based PO system, allowing data to flow in both directions.

All connectivity between the SAP PO system and the legacy systems is handled by the EAI solution. As part of this solution, various interfaces were created to support bi-directional data flow. All the information pertaining to the various legacy systems and the SAP-based PO system (source and target) were captured as part of the functional specifications.

Results

All of the company’s integration needs were met by the EAI solution that was implemented. It provided for an automated procurement process in place of a manual one and seamlessly integrated all the legacy applications at the company with minimum fuss. The changes required in the existing scenario were kept to a minimum. Moreover, because the Common Data Format (CDF) provides a lot of flexibility to the model, any new application can be easily incorporated with a plug-and-play kind of adaptability.
